The Mask

We all complain about the masks that we have to wear when we are out. We are so bored of them. A question: Before pandemic, weren’t we wearing any masks? Over the years, we put on different masks and finally turned the mask thing into a physical reality. After all, we are creatures who can create what they think. How many of us were really going out on without masks?

Now let’s use our imagination. The probability of Covid19 transmission increases when we go out without a physical mask. This is a known fact. Let’s call the masks we used to wear before pandemic as emotional masks (where we show ourselves different from what we are or how we feel feel). What do you think is the probability that our emotions will cross over to the other person when we wear emotional masks?

“I find him/her very attractive but I can’t smile, then he’ll get it wrong.” What’s wrong with his/her understanding that you finds her/him attractive? Isn’t that true anyway? “I am a manager. I have to be serious or they won’t show respect. ” In this case, do employees feel respect or fear? Examples can be increased.

Yes, you are right, these masks also prevent emotions such as anger and anger from getting to the other side. But the mask does not destroy this feeling, like it does not destroy the virus. It causes it to stay inside and grow. Since we cannot express it in the right language at that moment, we will have an explosion either inside us or against him/her or another person at a time that we do not know, and the reason of it will not be even understood neither by others nor even by us . However, if we can say that “I am angry” at that moment, perhaps a much simpler solution can be found and the conflict can be ended.

Perhaps one of the things Covid 19 is trying to teach us is to be aware of these masks. Maybe it says, “You were wearing it already, I made it easy for you”. You no longer have to wear a fake smile. Nobody will see it anyway. You can make tongue out from the back of the mask. Nobody will notice.

Are we, who complain about wearing masks, really ready to go around without a mask? Were we able to leave our roles while we were isolated at home? Or did we hug it all again with normalization? How many of us have faced himself/herself, who (s)he really was and what (s)he really wanted? Aren’t we wearing the most ply mask against ourselves? How many levels have we overcome in this period?

We started to complain about wearing masks though we used them as shelters before. Why? Because it is difficult for us to breathe, right? Can’t this be happening so that we can empathize with our soul that we have left breathless for years? As long as our soul wanted to be liberated, didn’t we enslave it for different reasons? Have we not silenced our souls for status, acceptance, power, etc.? We have continued this for so many years that perhaps we are now experiencing its physical projection.

Now I have a question for you. Which one do you think we will get rid of faster: physical masks or emotional masks? This is a little up to us. I wish you days when we can reflect ourselves first to ourselves and then to our outside without a mask.
